Eurovision’s Head of Show personally invited Eurovision winner Netta to perform during an interval act of this year’s Grand Final.
2018 champion Netta will perform during the Liverpool Songbook interval act on Saturday night alongside Duncan Laurence, Mahmood, Cornelia Jakobs, Daði Freyr and Sonia.

Netta’s appearance was made by personal invitation by Lee Smithurst who asked her in her dressing room at Het Grote Songfestivalfeest in November last year.
Speaking to The Euro Trip, Netta said: “We had a Eurovision event in Amsterdam and Lee [Smithurst], who is one of the big hats in the Eurovision world, came to us and he made a proposal and I was very quick to say yes.
“I was sitting on my chair doing my makeup and Yuval Cohen, who advised Eurovision artistically in Israel, introduced us to Lee.
“He came into the room and he was just like, ‘We’re doing this thing in Liverpool and I’d really, really want you there’. It was just very casual.
“I needed to ask some people, but it was very clear to me that this should happen.”
Netta and the other Liverpool Songbook performers will perform a cover and not their original Eurovision songs.
“We talked about The Beatles,” Netta said.
“It was very difficult for me to touch a Beatles song because they’re so great as it is.
“We chose something that was so fun to redo, and [we added] my colour and my style inside of it. It’s very Netta.”
It’s unknown what song Netta will perform on Saturday night but she will release the version on streaming platforms the day after the Grand Final.
