Changes planned for Smash Into Pieces final performance

Smash Into Pieces are planning “quite a few changes” for their performance in the Melodifestivalen final this weekend.

The Heroes Are Calling band booked their place in the show’s final by winning the first heat back in February, but have listened to the confusion of some viewers and changed their performance.

Speaking to The Euro Trip, frontman Chris Adam said: “We have some changes because after the heat, we understood that people didn’t understand Apoc was with us during the show.”

Apoc is The Apocalypse DJ, the masked drummer of Smash Into Pieces.

During the band’s performance in the first Melfest heat in Malmö, Apoc was performing behind the stage’s LED wall, appearing sporadically when the screens were removed.

Apoc did also appear now and again on the LED screens at the back of the stage during the performance.

“We want to bring him more into the final.

“We have quite a few changes. As always, we’re aiming to develop, adapt and polish everything we do.”

Chris Adam didn’t reveal how Apoc will be more visible to the audience, or what else the band has planned for their performance in the Melfest final.

Fellow Melfest finalist Maria Sur had planned to make a change to the live performance of her song When I’m Gone

However, Sur told The Euro Trip that her idea of adding a dance break had to be canned as it would have broken the rules of the competition.

Smash Into Pieces will perform fourth in the running order of the Melfest final on Saturday night (March 9).
