“Second place is the goal” according to Georgia’s Circus Mircus

Speaking on the latest episode of the Euro Trip podcast, Georgian representatives Circus Mircus have revealed their aim is not to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

In an interview with presenter James Rowe, the band members explained their home country would not be able to organise the following year’s contest, as required by Eurovision rules.

“Second place is the goal, our country would not be able to accomodate Eurovision, because it is a lot of money involved.

“People know Georgia is not the wealthiest country in the world.”

When asked who they believed would win if not them, they were all in agreement as to which country might take home the Eurovision crown next Monday.

“We believe Ukraine will definitely get the first place.”

Elsewhere in the interview the band also revealed they have a surprise in store when they arrive in Turin, with something special planned for their performance.

While they remained tightlipped, they did give one clue.

“I can tell you one letter… M.”
