Robin Bengtsson believes Melfest 2022 is “the year of the girls”

Speaking on the latest episode of the Melfest Monday podcast, Melodifestivalen finalist Robin Bengtsson has revealed who he predicts will be competing to represent Sweden at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

In the interview he was asked by host Rob Lilley whether he’d had a chance to watch the other songs in the competition since qualifying.

“I think there are a number of really strong contestants for the win… it’s really hard to tell.

“I’m up for massive competition, I think maybe this is the year of the girls. My guess is that Cornelia or Klara is the biggest contestants for the win.”

Robin will sing his track “Innocent Love” in Saturday’s Final, and has been drawn to perform in 7th position – the same slot Tusse won from in last year’s show.

In another part of the interview Robin also revealed he is planning changes for his performance.

“We are changing a bunch of camera angles, some colours, the staging overall… it didn’t really look the way I wanted it to… I’ve given my input, and SVT as well, as we’ll see how it ends up.”
