Sanna Nielsen says “never say never” to Melfest return

Speaking on the latest episode of The Euro Trip podcast, Sweden’s Eurovision 2014 representative has said she’d be open to a return to Melodifestivalen in the future.

Discussing her life and career on the podcast’s latest episode, Sanna Nielsen shared her love for Sweden’s national selection, having competed seven times in the past.

Presenter Rob Lilley asked whether she’d consider returning in the future:

“I have no idea, I never say never. I love being part of that bubble and I love being part of that show, so it would be great to be there again.”

She did go on to say that she’d think twice about a return however, given how much she enjoyed her previous appearance at Eurovision itself.

“On the other hand it is a great story, it is a great chapter… I got so much love and support… it has taken me to where I am today, that third place is very very meaningful to me.”

This year’s Melodifestivalen begins on Saturday with a number of previous participants returning to the stage in the first semi-final, they include Danny Saucedo, Arvingana, and Jessica Anderson.

An additional podcast from the team behind The Euro Trip, ‘Melfest Monday’ will release episodes each week covering the competition, with the first episode available now.
