Salena committed to Eurovision return as an artist

Austrian singer Salena has stated her commitment to return to the Eurovision Song Contest as an artist.

Salena performed alongside Teya at the contest in Liverpool earlier this year representing Austria, scoring 15th place in the Grand Final.

Speaking exclusively to The Euro trip to promote the newly released Christmas song Ho Ho Ho, Salena confirmed she wanted to sing again at Eurovision.

“I want to try Eurovision again.

“I want to do it again, definitely as an artist.”

She went on to tease the involvement of Teya, directing a suggestive comment to her compatriot.

“So, maybe if you’re up to writing songs for Eurovision, you know where I am.”

Teya approved of the suggestion, saying: “That would only feel right. That would make the most sense.”

Teya went on to say she wants to stay involved in the Eurovision community, having been involved in writing camps for a number of years.

“I definitely want to be around Eurovision forever.

“I want to go as a writer and help artists to get somewhere.

“I don’t think right now I’m going to do it as a solo artist – maybe in four or five years it’ll feel right to go again.”

Since representing Austria in May, Teya & Salena have released two songs: Bye Bye Bye, and the Christmas song Ho Ho Ho.

However, the pair told The Euro Trip that they have decided to part ways as a duo

“When we do solo music it’s so different to each other, so it would make sense to split up for a while and do our own thing.” Teya said.

“We’re always going to support each other, and maybe there will be features along the way.

“Maybe we’ll decide to do another song together, but I think that’s it for now.

“Ho Ho Ho is a very good ending to a very good year. It felt right to put a full stop there.”
