“Last Saturday we [OGAE Norway] had our meeting, and we had Ulrikke as a guest. She told us she is going back to Melodi Grand Prix, and she is going to win, and she is going to Eurovision.

Keiino perform at Melodi Grand Prix 2021

When pushed for more details about the othr rumoured returning artist, 2019 MGP winners Keiino, Morten agreed we could see them represent Norway once more.

“There have also been strong rumours about Keiino also wanting to go back. Both of them [Ulrikke & Keiino] have something they are wanting to avenge.”

As part of the conversation the pair also discussed planned changes to next year’s Melodi Grand Prix, with a revised format expected to be confirmed in the next few weeks.

“There is going to be three semi-finals this year, each semi-final will have seven songs, and then three songs will progress to the final.

“We think [most fans] that this is a very fair way to do it, instead of having some songs that are direct through to the final.”

Melodi Grand Prix is set to take place in January and February next year, with 2023 seeing the competition mark it’s 61st anniversary.
