Robin Bengtsson drops hints about Melodifestivalen entry ‘Innocent Love’

The former Swedish Eurovision representative has given more details about his Melfest 2022 entry during an interview for the Melfest Monday podcast.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s first heat in Stockholm, the three-time Melodifestivalen singer told Melfest Monday host Rob Lilley what fans can expect from his performance.

When asked what he could reveal about the track, he remained relatively tight lipped, but did give some details.

“I just came across this song. They [the label] didn’t have an artist for it and I thought this would be a song that would suit me really well, so I just asked asked if I could record it.

“It is uptempo, 170 bpm, and I usually describe it as arena pop rock.

Compared to my other entries this one really goes off in the first two seconds and just doesn’t calm down.”

Robin Bengtsson has previously competed in the competition in 2016, 2017, and most recently in 2020 when he placed 8th with his entry “Take A Chance”.

He was speaking as the new series of Melfest Monday kicks off, with the series being produced by the same team behind the popular Euro Trip podcast.
