Speaking on the latest episode of The Euro Trip podcast, Eesti Laul runner-up Sissi has confirmed she’d love to return to the Estonian Eurovision selection process in the future.
In an interview with podcast hosts Rob Lilley and James Rowe, the singer was asked whether or not she’d like to return.
“Yes, short and simple.”
“I can’t tell you for sure it’s going to be this year or next year. I’m going to be taking part when there’s a song I believe in.”
Sissi’s father, Dave Benton, won Eurovision for Estonia in 2001 alongside Tanel Padar and the group 2XL with their track “Come On Everybody”.
She added her father’s prior experience had helped when preparing for this year’s competition.
“He [Dave Benton] knows how to coach me through the nerves, the stress.. [the] pressure that comes with performing and being in the public eye.”
Sissi finished 2nd in the Eesti Laul Super Final with 28.9% of the vote, while 2020 artist Uku Suviste earnt the right to return to Eurovision with his track “The Lucky One” securing 46.4% of all votes cast.
